Atley Jane was 4 months old yesterday (Jan 30). She's such a good baby and we can't imagine our lives without her! She has her 4 month well child visit on Tuesday, so I will post weight and length after that.
Atley at 4 Months:
She sleeps great! From about 9:30-7:30 (and I often have to wake her up in the mornings to get her fed before needing to get Ethan off to school).
She still eats every 3-4 hours- but isn't too demanding.
She smiles and laughs all the time! Especially at her brother and sister, when they are dancing and laughing.
Her legs and neck are ticklish and her little giggle is so cute!
She rolls over (back to front) and doesn't immediately get mad about being on her belly.
She's a slobbery, wet mess! She can soak a shirt in just a few minutes.
She's starting to nap quite well in her own bed (when we are home and not out and about).
She likes to chew/suck on her hands and anything that might be in her hands.
She only likes 1 type of pacifier...we've tried others and she won't have it!
We had her 4 month pictures taken earlier in the week and I already have the proofs back! She did great! Here are a couple from that.
I LOVE this one! Shows off her beautiful smile.
And here are some I took yesterday!
She has started sitting in her highchair with us during meal times. She likes being up high able to see things!
Happy girl!
Trying to roll over
Getting distracted by her hand (after knocking her headband off)
We have signed Ethan and Nora up for soccer and they are both really enjoying it. Tonight was their 2nd week and I brought my camera for some pictures.
Nora's class is first and it's adorable. I'm not sure how much soccer she is learning, but she's running all over with her soccer ball in tow ;)! Sometimes she kicks it and sometimes she carries it. It's chaotic, to be honest. But she has fun and is hot and sweaty when it's over.
Circling up
Trying really hard to balance on the ball ;)
About to get tangled up
More circle time
Ethan's class is a little more organized (as it should be). He is really learning about soccer and having a great time each week. And he is a sweaty, red faced boy when it's all over. The first half of his class is drills and playing different games and the second half is a little scrimmage. (I'm hoping for better pictures of him next week...he was all the way across the court/field tonight.)
This past weekend we headed up to Chicago to visit our good friends the Lloyds and hit up Ikea. Nora spent the weekend in Salem with my parents, playing with Katie and Haley (she had more fun there that she would have at Ikea, that's for sure!) We have plans to redo our closet. It's going to be a big project, I have a feeling. Anyway, we drove to Ikea on Friday and spend a good 3 hours there feeling overwhelmed :/. After that, we drove to the Lloyds where Erin had dinner ready for us :)!
I didn't take my big camera, so these are all phone pictures and not very good. So, I apologize for that.
Ethan wanted this room :)
Atley is thrilled with her first trip to Ikea!
And this is the result of over an hour in the closet parts and pieces aisle! NUTS!
Hopefully I'll have before and after pics of our closet.
Finally getting to the Lloyds house! All the boys were so excited!!
Ethan and Brennan
Ice Cream time!
Mayleigh is growing up so much!
On Saturday, the Talty's came up to spend the rest of the weekend with the Lloyds, so we all met for lunch and them some trampoline fun at Sky Zone.
Crazy group for lunch at Portillo's!
Listening intently to the Sky Zone rules
Running off the trampolines
Crazy kid getting ready to jump in the pit!
They had a dodgeball court too. They loved this place!
After Sky Zone, we said our goodbyes, went back to Ikea (Jared ran in for a couple things we forgot) and headed home. It was a quick trip and a great weekend! Can't wait to spend time with our dear friends again!
Atley reached a milestone today! She rolled over from her back to her belly! She has been trying to for a while and today it happened. I grabbed my phone to snap a picture right after she did it!
Just rolled over!
Here are a couple pictures of tummy time today. She's getting stronger!
Happy girl during tummy time!
And tummy time is over ;)
Now we're trying to roll over to show Daddy and Ethan, but she didn't. Just tried a little.
I realized that I haven't posted many pictures of Atley lately. Here are a few I have snapped recently from my phone. She is such a good baby! She is really getting strong and loves to sit up. The last two weeks in church, she has been awake and sitting up right on my lap :). She's 2 days shy of 15 weeks old!
First time in the bumbo seat. And she didn't hate it! January 1
Smiley girl after a good night of sleeping! January 3
Showing off her new outfit from Libby- size 6 months :(. And her new, personalized blanket from Beth! January 6
We spent one of our 'cold' days off from school at the Koskinens. Atley tried out Olen's jumper. January 8
Ethan gets a Lego magazine each month and each month there is a building contest. This month was build your own Lego swamp police boat. Ethan was pumped and got right to work yesterday after school. Before I knew it, he was ready to take a picture of it and send it in. He did the whole thing by himself, no maps ;)!! School was canceled today (-25 degree windchill), so we got the picture and form printed and in the mail! We have a hopeful boy here!!
Ethan with his Swamp Police Boat. Complete with a jail cell, bad guy and bad guy boat.
Atley Jane was 3 months old yesterday (Dec. 30)! These last 3 months have flown by!! We are all adjusting well to life with 3.
A few things about Atley at 3 Months:
Eating every 3-4 hours.
Weighs 14 lbs (according to our scale)
Sleeps from about 10pm-7am (most nights...sometimes it's 5 or 6am, feed and back to sleep)
Loves to smile
Loves attention
Is acting like she wants to roll over
Will giggle (sometimes) when I tickle her neck
Likes her space- she enjoys laying on a blanket, her play mat and sitting the swing
She is starting to take more consistent naps (yay!)
Loves bath time
She is still loved by her brother and sister! Ethan's words, "Atley is the best baby!" And I have to agree.
On Friday, one of my best friends from forever was also in Salem. Sara and Jason have 11 month old twin girls, so they brought them over to hang out and to meet Atley. I wish we could see each other more often, but it never seems like any time has passed when we do get the chance to get together!
Sara and I and 5 kids! Mary Charlotte, Elizabeth, Nora, Atley and Ethan
Sara's mom, Diane came over too! Elizabeth may be jealous of Atley ;)!
